Tom is a compact road assistant without a screen or voice prompts that informs the driver about speed cameras, road hazards, and traffic using LED indicators and sound alerts. Its minimalist design without visual distractions is intended to enhance concentration while driving.
The device automatically activates at the beginning of a trip and transmits important alerts without the need to set a route. All data is received from the TomTom app, which runs in the background on the smartphone.
The free app complements Tom with full navigation featuring turn-by-turn instructions. It uses TomTom maps with constant updates, current speed limits, and a comprehensive database of camera locations for Europe and North America.
The TomTom app is available for free for Android and iOS. The Tom by TomTom device can be ordered from the company’s website, and it will be available on Amazon and at retailers in October for €79.99.
