The Electra L7 has inherited the design language of the Electra-L concept car, featuring a closed front panel, L-shaped headlights, and an active grille in the lower bumper. The top version Avenir received exclusive styling: 19-inch wheels and rear lights with a flowing effect.
The car length is 5032 mm, which is 147 mm longer than the Toyota Camry XV80. The wheelbase is 3000 mm. The sedan features frameless doors, hidden door handles, and conventional mirrors. Five body colors are available: black, gray, white, gold, and purple.
The interior features a block with a 10.25-inch instrument panel and a 15.6-inch central display. In the top versions, there is a 50-inch AR projector available. Four interior color schemes are offered, including a special white-purple for the Avenir version.
The automated driving system "Xiaoyao Intelligent Drive" based on the Momenta R6 model uses lidar, millimeter-wave radars, and HD cameras. It provides assistance for urban and highway driving, autoparking, and remote parking.
The Avenir version is additionally equipped with the Buick Sound Theatre audio system with 27 speakers and built-in headrest speakers, seats made of premium Nappa leather, and exclusive decorative elements.
The series hybrid combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine acting as a generator and an electric motor with a power of 252 kW, which drives the vehicle. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 5.9 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited to 200 km/h.
The lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 40.2 kWh provides a range of 302 km in pure electric mode according to the CLTC cycle, and the total range is 1420 km. A bidirectional charging function V2L with 6 kW power is also available.
The Electra L7 is the first model of the new Buick sub-brand, which plans to rapidly expand its lineup in several categories. An electric minivan and a new crossover are in development.
