Chinese company Chery Automobile unveiled its first independently developed solid-state battery module. The claimed energy density is 600 Wh/kg, which is among the highest figures for such storage devices.

The battery prototype presentation took place on October 18 in Wuhan during the "Chery Global Innovation Conference 2025". The module was developed by the Chery Solid-State Battery Research Institute.

The company claims that the cell maintained power delivery without ignition and smoke even after extreme crash tests, including nail penetration and damage by electric drill.

Cars with this technology can theoretically travel over 1500 km on a single charge, although in real conditions a range of about 1300 km is expected. The company confirmed plans for pilot implementation in 2026 and production expansion in 2027.
