The concept is designed in the current corporate style of Modern Solid and represents a reimagining of the iconic model, taking into account modern technology and aesthetics.
The Škoda 100, produced from 1969 to 1977, was the brand's first car with a million-unit circulation. The model was introduced as an affordable people's car, but owning a personal vehicle was a rarity in those years. This inspired designer Martin Paclt to reimagine the 100 with a more premium character in limousine style.
The original sedan retained the layout of its predecessor, the 1000 MB, with a rear-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration. The four-door model was characterized by elegant balanced lines, practical solutions, and advanced features for its time, such as foldable seats in the L version.
The Škoda 100 was equipped with a 1.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 35 kW, while the 1.1-liter Škoda 110 developed 39 kW, and the LS versions approached 46 kW.
The key motivation for choosing precisely the Škoda 100 was the model's popularity, which Paclt remembers from his childhood. From the very beginning, he did not want to create a retro-stylization. The goal was to preserve the essence of the original primarily through its proportions and overall character. Therefore, the modern interpretation remains a classic sedan with elegant smooth surfaces and large continuous volumes.
The concept features many modern details: a four-element headlight graphics, a sculpted hood with a recess and the Škoda logo, as well as expressive light strips stretching across the full width of the front and rear. These elements refer to the chrome-plated front trim and rear ventilation grille of the original model.
One of the features of the concept is the rear part of the body behind the rear door. This area is inspired by the similar shapes of the front and rear windows of the original car. The idea led to a bold design decision: the rear window is absent. This allowed the body surfaces to mirror the sculptural language of the glazed front part. The brand's signature oval graphics, used at the front and rear, further enhance the connection with the classic Škoda 100.
