The design was developed in collaboration with Snoeks Automotive. The partition is installed right behind the second row of seats in the five-seater versions of the ID. Buzz. This feature allows for the transportation of passengers and designates a separate space for cargo.
Unlike the commercial ID Buzz Cargo with metal sides, this configuration retains the passenger body and glazing. However, the solid partition allows for loading items up to the roof level without affecting the cabin. Additionally, it reduces noise and dirt penetration into the passenger area.
The partition includes a small window for rear visibility, and the reduced cabin volume can enhance climate control efficiency, which is especially relevant for an electric vehicle.
This option may interest private owners and small businesses who periodically need cargo space without transitioning to a fully commercial version.
The partition is made of a lightweight composite material and features a separate compartment at the bottom for storing the charging cable. Volkswagen notes that the seatbelts and side airbags of the second row maintain full functionality. The system is available for both short and long wheelbase versions. Prices have been announced only for the German market so far — from 1,856 euros.
