The Chinese car industry continues to challenge the idea of how much a modern car should cost. Leapmotor has introduced the new compact electric crossover A10 to the Chinese market, which will be designated B03X on the international stage. And if you thought the budget segment meant skimping on everything, this device on wheels is ready to argue, offering technology usually found in more expensive cars.
Pricing policy and versions
The new model is available in four configurations. The basic version, the 403 Edition, starts at $9,500. The next step up is the 403 Edition with an advanced driver assistance system (ADS) for $10,100. For those who need more range, the 505 Edition is offered for $11,100, while the top version with a lidar will cost $12,600.
Design and dimensions
The design of the A10 follows the "Tech Natural Aesthetics 2.0" concept. The front part features so-called "smiling headlights," and at the rear are taillights that designers have dubbed "Haha taillights." Whether competitors will laugh is an open question, but the car looks quite modern.
The dimensions of the crossover are: length - 4270 mm, width - 1810 mm, height - 1635 mm with a wheelbase of 2605 mm. The car has 18-inch wheels.
Technological cabin and AI
Inside, the Leapmotor A10 is equipped with an 8.88-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.6-inch central screen with a 2.5K resolution. The performance is powered by the Qualcomm SA8295 chip, which is part of the modern Snapdragon Digital Chassis platform. The system integrates the Qwen AI assistant, and below the screen is an IP BAR panel, where you can add a humidifier, air freshener, or even an emergency hammer.
Autopilot and safety
The main feature of the top version is the presence of a lidar and the Qualcomm SA8650 chip. They enable a "park-to-park" driver assistance scenario, including City NAP urban navigation and parking space memory.
Powertrain and charging
The Leapmotor A10 is offered with a single electric motor in two power options: 70 kW (94 hp) or 90 kW (121 hp). The torque in both cases is 150 Nm. Batteries with a capacity of 39.8 kWh or 53 kWh provide a range of 403 km and 505 km according to the CLTC cycle, respectively. Importantly, fast charging is supported: you can recharge from 30% to 80% in just 16 minutes.
