Geely officially introduced the new generation of the i-HEV (Intelligent Energy) hybrid system. The new installation will appear in the bestsellers of the Chinese automaker in 2026.
Efficiency
The main advantage of the system is the engine’s thermal efficiency at 48.4%. For mass production, this is one of the highest indicators in the world. Geely claims that thanks to artificial intelligence in energy management, overall efficiency has increased by 10%. The result is low fuel consumption. The system made it to the Guinness Book of Records with a figure of 2.22 l/100 km in the combined cycle. Of course, in real life, the numbers will be different, but the claim is serious.
Speed and comfort without extra weight
Unlike plug-in hybrids (PHEV), the i-HEV uses compact batteries with a capacity of 1–2 kWh. This allows not to overburden the car and keeps the price reasonable since the dependence on raw material costs for large batteries is minimal. At the same time, the electric part produces 230 kW of power, providing a very brisk start in the city: acceleration from 0 to 30 km/h takes only 1.84 seconds. However, the manufacturer does not specify for which model.
The first models to receive the new system will be:
- Geely Preface (Xingrui) — promises consumption of 3.98 l/100 km
- Geely Monjaro (Xingyue L) — here the figure will be 4.75 l/100 km
Externally, the cars will hardly change, except for new wheels and colors. But inside, drivers can expect the Flyme Auto system with deep smartphone integration via Huawei HiCar and large dual screens. Top-end configurations will feature head-up displays (HUD), seat ventilation, and massage.
