Until recently, there were three crossovers in the NIO lineup: ES8, ES6 and EC6. The new ES7 was the fourth in the overall list of SUVs, but the first built on the NT2 platform, which also formed the basis of the flagship ET7 sedan. As you might guess from the name, ES7 will occupy a niche in the NIO line between the larger ES8 and the compact ES6, although the novelty is more advanced than both relatives in terms of technology and options.
Nio ES7 length - 4912 mm, width - 1987 mm, height - 1720 mm. Wheelbase - 2960 mm. The body combines aluminum and high-strength steel grades, pneumatic suspension: double-lever front and multi-link rear. Wheel diameter reaches 21 inches.
Among the distinctive design features are the distinctive mounds on the roof, where lidars and cameras are located for the operation of the NAD (Nio Autonomous Driving) semi-autonomous driving system controlled by the Adam computer on Nvidia Orin X processors. NAD performance will be gradually improved through software updates.
So far, only one level of equipment has been announced with a panoramic roof, heated and ventilated front seats, interior contour lighting, Nappa leather upholstery and 1000-watt acoustics with 23 speakers. The diagonal of the main screen in the center is 12.8 inches, and the dashboard is 10.2 inches. Above the central touchscreen is an animated assistant that recognizes voice commands.
The Nio ES7 comes with two engines and all-wheel drive by default. There is a 245 hp engine at the front, 408 hp at the rear, and the peak total output of the installation reaches 653 hp. and 850 Nm. According to the passport, the crossover accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds, while the maximum speed is limited to 200 km / h.
But you can choose the battery capacity: basic at 75 kWh, advanced at 100 kWh or the most expensive at 150 kWh, which will appear later. In the first case, a power reserve of 485 km is promised, in the second - 620 km, in the third - 850 km. Moreover, in China you can buy a car without a battery, and rent a battery pack from the manufacturer for $150 or $250 per month. NIO also offers such customers a quick battery replacement service at branded stations.
Sales of Nio ES7 should start in August 2022. A crossover without a battery can be purchased for $59,000, with a base battery for $70,000, and with a 100-kilowatt one for $78,000.
