Mobile repair stations are a ready-made comprehensive solution that will allow the repair and maintenance of American military SUVs to be carried out near the front in a matter of hours, covering the needs of several units, "Come Back Alive" fund reported on Facebook.
The trucks contain everything you need to work: tools, equipment and a comfortable workplace for the crew. Another advantage is that they are new and modern.
"Soon mobile repair stations will be in Ukraine. And the result of this project will be felt by Ukrainian defenders, but its potential is difficult not to assess, because now dozens and hundreds of new armored vehicles and cars from the Allies are arriving in Ukraine, and these stations will extend their life and service life", - the Foundation said.
The Ukrainian army had several hundred HMMWVs, also known as Humvee, before the full-scale Russian invasion on February 24, 2022. These machines are provided by the United States as part of international technical assistance. Armored and awning modifications covered the needs of entire units of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, Assault Troops and Marines.
The "Come Back Alive" explained that during the war, even this time-tested equipment failed, came under fire and needed current or major repairs. This repair in the Ukrainian army is carried out by a small team of professionals who know Humvee very well.
The work of this team is often limited by logistics, because for more serious repairs, a damaged or broken SUV must be pulled hundreds of kilometers to the place where the necessary conditions and tools are needed to bring the HMMWV back to life. This is a huge waste of resources, fuel and time, which in times of war is not enough, because without a machine ready for battle, not only the successful completion of the combat mission is threatened, but also the lives of the military.
The Foundation is confident that the new mobile repair stations on the Iveco chassis will allow repairs near the front in a matter of hours, covering the needs of several units without removing equipment from the battlefield for a long time.
