The Audi Q6 is built on the MQB Evo platform with a transverse engine and front wheel drive. The closest technical relative of the new Q6 is the Volkswagen Teramont crossover. Even their wheelbase is the same - 2980 mm.
However, the Audi Q6 received an original design with a characteristic grille, different lighting and its own body panels. The length of the Q6 is 5099 mm versus 5063 mm for the Q7 model. Width - 2014 mm instead of 1970 mm, and height - 1784 mm instead of 1741 mm.
Wheel diameter varies from 19 to 21 inches depending on the customer's wishes. The Sport package is available as an option, with a more aggressive grille and black decor instead of chrome elements.
The interior of the Audi Q6 also bears no resemblance to its relative from the Volkswagen brand. A virtual dashboard with a diagonal of 12.3 inches is installed in front of the driver. Two more screens are placed on the center console: a 10.1-inch one for the multimedia system on the top, and an 8.6-inch one for climate control at the bottom.
The Audi Q6 has three rows of seats and three-zone climate control by default. In simple versions, there is a three-seat sofa on the second row, in more expensive ones there are separate chairs with heating, ventilation, massage and electric drives.
The Audi Q6 engine range is the same as that of the Chinese Volkswagen Teramont. Under the hood can be a 2.0 TFSI petrol engine with 231 hp or 265 hp or V6 2.5 with 299 hp. All versions are equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and quattro all-wheel drive system.
The Audi Q6 will be produced by the SAIC Volkswagen joint venture. Prices in China are already known - from 74 to 96 thousand US dollars. This model will probably not be sold in other markets.
