Under the hood of the Bentley Mulliner Batur is a powerful W12 engine, however, this coupe is a harbinger of the brand's future electric vehicles.

The Bentley Mulliner Batur is a new two-door Grand Touring coupe that represents the beginning of a change in Bentley design. The new corporate identity will be applied to the company's first electric car, which will appear in 2025, and subsequent families of battery cars.

Batur was created by Bentley design director Andreas Mindt and his team. Mindt joined Bentley in 2021 after 25 years with the Volkswagen Group with brands such as Volkswagen and Audi. It was he who created the electric Audi E-Tron.

Batur is somewhat at odds with Bentley's current design language. The split rounded headlights are gone, with the coupe instead getting slim three-beam headlights with LED daytime running light accents. The new radiator grille is accentuated by an aggressive bumper design, 22-inch wheels with original rims are placed in the wheel arches, and taillights have become even thinner.

The interior of Batur organically complements the exterior. Inspired by last year's Bacalar open-top model, the cabin retains the brand's identity with updated materials tailored to the wishes of each car customer.

Inside the Batur, three sustainable materials are available: Scottish and Italian leather, as well as Dinamica faux suede. For the first time, the flooring is made from recycled yarn, and instead of carbon fiber, Bentley uses a natural fiber composite, which the company claims is more environmentally friendly. For those who want to get the most expensive options, Bentley has offered special interior elements printed on a 3D printer from 18 carat gold.

Bentley Mulliner Batur received a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine. This massive motor produces 710 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque. Thus, the new coupe also became the most powerful production car Bentley.

"Circulation" Bentley Mulliner Batur will be only 18 cars, which, of course, have already been sold out by the brand's most loyal fans. The minimum cost of the coupe is 1.65 million pounds (about 2.0 million US dollars). Production will begin in the first half of 2023.
