In this thrilling video co-starring the X6 M Competition and the iX M60, BMW divulges some exciting specs. We know that the electric motors produce a combined output of 400 kilowatts and 1,000 Newton-meters of instant torque (536 hp and 738 lb-ft). Even though certain aspects of the video seem to be computer generated, the machine itself is real.
The Dune Taxi appears to have gullwing doors and a roof scoop, which is made of natural fiber-reinforced polymer. The off-roader has slim LED lights on the front and rear, giving it a futuristic appearance while the reduced cabin has a full roll cage and "Cosworth" lettering on the center control stack. With 400 millimeters (15.7 inches) of wheel travel, the quirky EV shows its versatility.
The nearly five-minute film is unclear if it's intended to showcase xDrive and M with a heavy dose of "i" or whether BMW intends to race the Dune Taxi. The video ends with the 2021 XM Concept, which will be presented in production form on September 27.
