To compete in November's SCORE International Baja 1000 race, Ford has outfitted a Ranger Raptor with special equipment. The car was put through its paces with numerous tests in Australia and is now undergoing final development testing in the United States.

The Ranger Raptor has been built to compete in SCORE's stock class. The motorsport version has been conceived by Ford Performance in collaboration with Australia's Kelly Racing and US-based Lovell Racing. While limited technical specifications have been announced, we know that it will run on a one-third blend of biofuel that mixes ethanol and bionaptha.

The Ranger has been modified to be ready for Baja. This includes a large snorkel, a new front fascia with a bull bar and skid plate, and a massive LED light bar. The bed has also been modified to hold two spare tires and plenty of tools.

Other mods include two-inch wider wheel arches, Method Racing wheels with meaty BFGoodrich off-road tires and a three-inch suspension lift. You'll also notice the roll cage inside. This car is built for speed AND safety!

The Ranger Raptor will compete in the 49th Baja 1000, a brutal desert race in Mexico that runs between November 18 and 20. Ford has participated in the Baja 1000 with both the F-150 Raptor and Bronco in recent years.
