Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 Deliveries commenced in the U.S this August, with the first two examples appearing at 2022 Monterey Car Week. Nevertheless, they will soon have to return their keys to Lamborghini for a speedy service inspection as there might be issues with the glass engine cover.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall for a total of nine units of the reborn Countach distributed worldwide. The agency's bulletin says the cars were produced between June 30 and July 28 this year and that the initial report about a potential problem came from the Qatar market in early October. One of the four glass panels on the rear bonnet of the supercar was found to have a possible issue, and Lamborghini began an internal investigation.

On October 25, Lamborghini announced that after internal analysis and testing, the defect was discovered as an error in the supplier's assembly phase concerning the bonding of the glass panel. At the time, no reports from other markets were received, but it was possible that other panels could fully detach from the rear bonnet.

Lamborghini will check each of the nine affected vehicles to see that the glass panels have been properly glued in place. If the glass panels are imperfect, they will be replaced with new ones from the manufacturer. All nine vehicles are still under warranty.

The new Countach can go from 0 to 62 mph in only 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 221 mph. These aren't the kind of speeds you want when there's a risk o fbodywork coming loose.
