The Ukrainian military has recently received a batch of the rare Bandvagn 202 (Bv 202), a Swedish-made articulated tracked carrier. Produced by Volvo and used by the Swedish army from 1964 to 1981, the Bv 202 has since been succeeded by the Hägglunds Bandvagn 206.

This two-section tracked vehicle, known for its ability to navigate through snow and boglands, has a fully enclosed front unit and a rear unit covered with bows and canvas. It can hold 10 troops or 1,000 kg of cargo.

"This is a unique and very necessary equipment in war zone. It is adapted to transport the wounded on the frontline where civilian medicine does not work," the Ukrainian military said.

According to Ukrainian media, the Ukrainian military plans to receive an additional 10-12 Bv 202 vehicles, which will be upgraded for use as medical evacuation vehicles.
