The McLaren 720S has officially been discontinued, according to confirmation from the company.

A representative for McLaren stated that "We are not taking further customer-specified build orders for 720S, but cars are available through our retailer network." This news follows a report from Automotive News.

The discontinuation of the 720S leaves the recently introduced Artura hybrid as the only remaining car in McLaren's "Supercar" line. The Artura boasts a powerful 671 horsepower, a slight drop from the 720S's 710 horsepower. However, it seems that the Artura will not be a direct replacement for the 720S, as McLaren has plans for a new vehicle.

While details on the upcoming car are currently unknown, the president of McLaren's Americas region reportedly hinted that it will have similarities to the 720S. There is speculation that the new car may incorporate the hybrid technology from the Artura, potentially paired with a more powerful gas engine. This possibility is supported by recent sightings of 720S test cars labeled as hybrid test vehicles.
