Bugatti's one-of-a-kind Chiron Profilée has made history by fetching an impressive €9,792,500 ($10,767,441 USD) at an RM Sotheby's auction, setting a new record for the highest amount ever paid for a brand-new car at auction.

The Profilée model was initially meant to be its own line of Chiron trims, like the Pur Sport or the Super Sport, however, the automaker finished its run of 500 units ahead of schedule, preventing the Profilée from entering production. Despite this, the car was finished and approved for use on European roads before being put up for auction.

Designed for aerodynamic efficiency and thermodynamic air flow, the Profilée boasts a distinctive ducktail spoiler, enhanced steering and suspension settings, and shorter gears allowing it to reach a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) in just 12.4 seconds. Although built for performance, the car is more of a grand tourer, based on customer feedback.

Finished in a silver hue called "Argent Atlantique," with tinted Bleu Royal Carbon lower section and "Le Patron" alloy wheels, the unique car's interior is a standout feature. It is the only Chiron model to receive a woven leather finish across the center console, dash, door panels, and rear wall inlay.

According to RM Sotheby's, the auction saw intense bidding between collectors in the room, online, and on the phone, making this Chiron Profilée a must-have for billionaire bragging rights.
