Based on the Highlander platform, the Century SUV will be powered by either a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid setup or the 3.5-liter V6 hybrid found in Lexus models. The vehicle is expected to be crafted at Toyota's Tahara Plant, showcasing their highest quality design and craftsmanship.
Though not as pricey as its sedan counterpart which comes in at around $150,000 USD, the new high-riding model will still carry a premium price tag at about $75,000 USD. This could make for some intriguing competition between it and already established luxury cars like BMW’s X5.
Given Rolls-Royce's and Bentley's successful executions of their modernized halo models - Cullinan and Bentayga - it makes sense for Toyota to launch their own version of this concept for contemporary luxury buyers. It remains to be seen what other luxuries Toyota has up its sleeve for future releases.
