BMW has unveiled the striking Concept Touring Coupe, a vehicle that seamlessly combines luxurious craftsmanship with a nod to the brand's storied history. This remarkable concept car pays homage to BMW's iconic models from the past while incorporating modern design elements and cutting-edge technology.

Drawing inspiration from the legendary 328 Touring Coupe that triumphed in the Mille Miglia race of 1940, the Concept Touring Coupe shares its name and takes design cues from this celebrated predecessor. Additionally, it honors the first modern BMW to wear the Touring badge—the 02 shooting brake from the 1970s. Notably, the concept car does not reference the Z3 coupe, a shooting brake design that garnered mixed opinions from the media, who likened it to a "bread van."

Derived from the popular BMW Z4, the Touring Coupe concept takes a bold departure from its donor car's convertible soft top and traditional sedan shape. Instead, it boasts a fixed roof and a striking shooting brake design, characterized by a flat rear hatchback. The concept's mesmerizing body is finished in a distinctive grey-brown paint infused with flakes of blue glass, giving it a mesmerizing shimmer. Complementing this eye-catching exterior are silver-bronze accents throughout, emphasizing the concept's exquisite craftsmanship. Notably, the double kidney grille showcases a one-of-a-kind pattern with vertical bars, further setting it apart from the crowd.

While the elongated roof line of the Touring Coupe may not accommodate additional passengers, it offers a remarkable advantage in terms of cargo carrying capacity. This design enhancement ensures that practicality remains a key aspect of this exceptional concept.

The Concept Touring Coupe's interior exudes opulence, thanks to the exquisite workmanship of Italian interior design firm Poltrona Frau. The cabin and boot showcase meticulously crafted leather, ensuring a premium and luxurious environment. The boot, equipped with tie-down straps.  Further emphasizing attention to detail, the car comes with a matching luggage set handcrafted by renowned leather goods firm Schedoni from Modena. Moreover, a cleverly designed tub-shaped compartment partially conceals the brace connecting the two wheel wells, adding to the vehicle's overall aesthetic appeal.

Under the hood, the Bread Van Concept boasts BMW's cutting-edge electric powertrain, delivering a combination of performance and sustainability. The electric motor provides instant torque, propelling the vehicle with ease, while the advanced battery technology ensures an impressive range on a single charge. This environmentally friendly approach aligns with BMW's commitment to reducing carbon emissions and embracing a greener future.

While BMW currently considers the Touring Coupe a one-off creation, it presents an exciting possibility for future production. If realized, it would mark the third body style on the platform shared with Toyota for the latest Supra coupe.
