Toyota is bringing back the Land Cruiser nameplate to the United States. A teaser video has been released, featuring vintage Land Cruiser badges.

Toyota is not planning to introduce the LC300 in the U.S., but instead, they are considering selling the next-generation Land Cruiser Prado. The Land Cruiser Prado is expected to share the same body-on-frame platform as the full-size Land Cruiser and have similarities to the recently unveiled Lexus GX.

The new Land Cruiser Prado is anticipated to be slightly larger than the outgoing model and will have a ladder frame developed with electrification in mind, potentially offering hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain options.

The GX is scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. next year, and the Land Cruiser Prado is expected to follow soon after. A full reveal of the Land Cruiser Prado is expected in the coming weeks to replace the aging Land Cruiser model that has been around since late 2009.
