Tesla's Model Y became the best-selling car in Europe for the first half of 2023, marking the first time an electric vehicle (EV) has achieved this feat over a six-month period.

The Model Y secured the top spot in both June and the first half of the year, surpassing competitors like Dacia Sandero and Volkswagen T-Roc. From January to June 2023, Tesla sold 125,144 Model Y units in Europe, representing a remarkable increase of 211.7% compared to the same period in the previous year.

Dacia's Sandero took the second position in the half-year sales chart with 118,883 units sold, followed by the Volkswagen T-Roc with 107,249 units sold.

Other notable cars on the list include Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208, Renault Clio, Toyota Yaris Cross, VW Tiguan, VW Golf, and Dacia Duster. The once-popular Volkswagen Golf now ranks ninth in both the June and half-year sales tables.
