BMW is developing an intensified iteration of the M2, anticipated to carry the CS badge, showcasing an amalgamation of carbon fiber elements alongside an enhanced powertrain.

Following its recent revamp, BMW is already engrossed in crafting a more potent CS variant for the M2. While initial impressions might not elicit much awe, a meticulous examination discloses an array of enhancements, encompassing a fresh frontal splitter and a conspicuous rear spoiler. Observations from the spy photographer further reveal a marginally lowered stance in comparison to the standard M2, accompanied by slightly broader wheels.

Beyond these apparent refinements, the prospect of concealed alterations beneath the camouflage is undetermined. However, drawing from the precedent set by its predecessor, the prior M2 CS was furnished with an exclusive exhaust system and a hood fortified with carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP), significantly trimming its weight in contrast to a steel counterpart. The model also exhibited a more dynamic suspension setup and a diverse selection of other CFRP constituents, notably including a lightweight roof.

Exploring the interior is currently thwarted by the veil of secrecy maintained by the spy photographers. Yet, it's reasonable to anticipate a familiar cabin design encompassing measures aimed at weight reduction. Following the template of its forerunner, the interior could potentially feature Alcantara upholstery, CFRP elements, and a profusion of CS branding. Notably, technological aspects might incorporate a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a capacious 14.9-inch infotainment system.

While the prevailing M2 model is propelled by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine churning out 453 horsepower (338 kW / 459 PS), whispers within the industry propose an imminent elevation in output, reaching either 468 horsepower (349 kW / 475 PS) or even 475 horsepower (354 kW / 482 PS). This speculation hints at the possibility of the M2 CS amassing a substantial 520 horsepower (388 kW / 527 PS), although it is prudent to retain a degree of skepticism for now.

It's worth noting that the forthcoming M2 CS is undeniably slated to occupy the upper echelons of the price spectrum, residing as a rarefied limited edition. Notably, the antecedent model's availability spanned a solitary model year, bearing a price tag of $83,600, excluding a $995 destination charge.
