Chinese car manufacturer Zeekr has unveiled a new high-performance model called the Zeekr 001 FR. It is expected to have more power than the current 536 hp and may use a three- or four-engine powertrain.

Zeekr shared two images of the 001 FR on Twitter earlier this week. They show the car on a racetrack and we can see that it benefits from a number of changes compared to the regular 001. For example, the front end has been updated with larger air curtains and the black grille has also grown slightly. Zeekr has also added a sharp splitter and tinted the headlights.

We can also see that various changes have been made to the sides of the 001 FR. For example, there are new skirts that extend further down than on the standard model. The car also appears to be rocking a set of distinctive black wheels, while at the rear we can see a fixed carbon fiber wing, a new bumper and a pronounced diffuser.

Car News China has managed to snap a handful of spy shots of a 001 FR prototype, and they show that some changes will also be made to the car's interior. For example, it features a slightly larger digital instrument cluster and redesigned seats. It is also reported that the 001 FR will be offered with an optional roof-mounted LiDAR.

The standard Zeekr 001 will be sold with either an 86 kWh battery, a 100 kWh battery or a massive 140 kWh battery pack. The most powerful model has a pair of electric motors that together deliver 536 horsepower, while the most range-focused version has a single 268 horsepower electric motor and can travel 641 miles (1,032 km) on a single charge. It is safe to assume that the 001 FR will pack more than 536 horsepower and could use a three- or four-motor powertrain.

Local reports indicate that it could carry a price tag of over 1 million yuan ($138,700), a significant jump from the standard car's 300,000 yuan ($41,630) starting price.
