Lamborghini has a teaser photo for a vehicle debuting on August 18. The text of the Instagram post promises: "Something new and truly thrilling is about to be unveiled."

The Italian automaker previously announced that it would debut an electric vehicle concept sometime during Monterey Car Week. August 18 falls into that timeframe, so the evidence points to this being our first look at the EV.

The teaser image provides a good look at the vehicle's silhouette and beltline. The lines are smooth as far as we can tell. However, the greenhouse has sharper points at the front and rear. These factors could indicate that the EV concept mixes the brand's familiar angular styling elements with the softer shapes we commonly see on electric vehicles to improve the drag coefficient.

Lamborghini described this concept as the "first prototype of our fourth series production car" in the previous announcement.

Plans for the vehicle have been in the works for a long time, as Lamborghini announced its Direzione Cor Tauri program in 2021. The product plan will see the company's entire lineup electrified by the end of 2024. This has already produced the Revuelto and will soon pave the way for a plug-in hybrid Urus as well as an eco-friendly successor to the Huracan.

The all-electric fourth model has been described as the "brightest star in the constellation" and the "culmination of this ... journey". The company went on to say that the model will have "remarkable performance" and will be positioned "at the top of its segment".
