Mahindra, an Indian automotive manufacturer, has introduced its futuristic electric off-road concept vehicle, the Vision Thar.e. This prototype reflects Mahindra's drive to shift towards electric-powered automobiles and expand into world markets such as mainland Europe and the United Kingdom.

The Vision Thar.e is built on the Inglo platform, a collaboration between Mahindra and the Volkswagen Group, and incorporates components from Volkswagen's MEB architecture.

The electric SUV departs from the design of its gas-powered counterpart, drawing inspiration from Land Cruiser and Land Rover Defender styling cues while maintaining its own distinct personality. The interior is designed for both urban and off-road practicality.

The powertrain features rear and front electric motors with peak outputs of 210 kW and 80 kW respectively, with battery capacities of 60-80 kWh and a maximum range of up to 450 km (280 miles) according to WLTP standards.

Mahindra is considering entering the UK market and has already showcased UK-designed EV concepts, demonstrating its global expansion plans in the electric vehicle sector.
