Formerly part of France's PSA Group, which along with FCA, created Stellantis, Spoticar debuted as an online platform for used car sales for its European dealerships in 2019. The platform expanded to the UK after two years and has now made its way to the U.S. It serves as a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program catering to brands like Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, and Ram, with Maserati being the only exception.
Featuring many standard CPO amenities and assurances, Spoticar operates through selected dealers within Stellantis’ network of 2,600 U.S. locations. The cars listed will not be older than 10 years and will have no more than 120,000 miles. Each vehicle is assured to have a clean title and no frame damage. A CarFax report, a three-month warranty, and a trio of months of roadside assistance complete with rental car coverage are included. Participating dealers will also offer trial phases for subscription-based services that come with the vehicles, like SiriusXM. A handy feature on the Spoticar website lets potential buyers sort listings by monthly payment, allowing them to input their desired payment amount, loan term, and credit score range.
As for existing programs, Spoticar is set to take over the CPO Go program, which Stellantis introduced in the previous October. CPO Go also included a vehicle assessment, a three-month warranty, a CarFax report, and a car rental allowance but did not encompass Alfa Romeo and Fiat models. Additionally, it restricted its offerings to cars outside of new vehicle warranty protections, typically ranging from at least six years to a maximum of 10 years old and with mileage between 75,001 and 120,000. Unlike CPO Go, Spoticar’s listings at the time of this report include two 2024 Jeeps and an array of 2023 models, including a 2023 Dodge Challenger GT listed for $34,995 with just 54 miles on it.
Distinct from CPO Go, Spoticar also provides a platform for private individuals to sell their cars to dealerships.
