It would seem that the fourth generation Škoda Octavia was recently introduced. But almost three years have passed and the Czech brand has begun testing updated cars in liftback and station wagon bodies.

Prototypes of the updated Škoda Octavia spotted on the mountain serpentines of Austria. The red station wagon and the gray liftback with Czech license plates are camouflaged front and rear, making it hard to imagine the design changes. Probably, as is usually the case with restyling in the middle of the model's life cycle, the Octavia family will have updated grilles and lighting equipment. Perhaps something will change in the cabin, but car paparazzi have not looked into the interior yet.

These photos are the first confirmation of road tests of the updated fourth iteration Škoda Octavia. Given that the tests have just begun, the official premiere should not be expected soon. This will probably not happen until the second half of 2023. In this case, the Octavia will be introduced as a 2024 model year.

The world premiere of the fourth generation Škoda Octavia took place in autumn 2019. New cars almost immediately got on the production line in the Czech city of Mlada Boleslav.
