Citroën posted a tweet that says what automakers are currently feeling on Twitter: "Hello to the social media platform owned by one of our competitors."
Citroën is in the process of transitioning to electric vehicles and offers a number of models in Europe, including the ë-C4, ë-C4 X, ë-Berlingo, and My Ami EV. In addition, the automaker has introduced the Oli EV Concept. Stellantis plans to sell only EVs by 2030 in Europe, which is sooner than most people would think. This should tell you that Tesla is definitely in its sights.
It's uncertain if Tesla CEO Elon Musk taking over Twitter will have an impact on the types of posts from car companies, though he already announced that it will have a "content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints."
Some car companies, like GM, have temporarily stopped advertisements on the platform in light of this news. Ford said it will stay on Twitter to communicate with customers, but Fisker deleted its account as soon as the Musk-Twitter debacle made headlines in April.
