Based on the updated T6 platform of the Ford Ranger, the second generation Amarok pickup truck has been transformed into a nifty camper thanks to upgrades by Genesis Import GmbH from Schwarzach. It's based on the rugged PanAmericana version and has been fitted with a raised suspension and BFGoodrich AT tires.

New VW Amarok Camper debuts at the 2023 Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf along with the T7 California concept.

Built at Ford's Silverton plant in South Africa, this workhorse has been outfitted with a rooftop tent and hardtop canopy. It also benefits from a 270-degree awning and has swapped the original wheels for a custom Delta set. The midsize pickup gets extra lights at the front as well as on the roof to illuminate the road ahead during "journeys in Scandinavia" or for traveling to "exotic places."

VW Commercial Vehicles decided to launch a high-end version of the new Amarok, equipped with matrix LED headlights, LED taillights and electrically operated front seats. It has a large 12-inch touchscreen, leather seats, and even leather on the dashboard. The German automaker goes so far as to say that this second-generation Amarok is now a "premium pickup," especially in a higher-end trim like this one.

Under the hood is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 making 238 horsepower and 443 pound-feet (600 Newton-meters) of torque, delivered to a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system via a ten-speed automatic transmission.

You can check out the off-roader and the T7 California concept at the Caravan Salon through September 3. Speaking of Ford, the Blue Oval will also be there to show off the new Transit Custom Nugget camper.
