Polestar 4 for North America to be built in South Korea starting in 2025
Production of the Polestar 4 is set to commence in China next week. However, the company has announced plans for future production in South Korea. It has been confirmed that starting in the second half of 2025, the Polestar 4 will also be manufactured at a factory in Busan.
Polestar has entered into a contract manufacturing agreement with Geely and Renault Korea Motors to produce the Polestar 4 at Renault's local facility in Busan. The vehicles produced at this location will be intended for the North American and South Korean markets. This factory, situated near ports, employs around 2,000 individuals and has committed to reducing its CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030, with the goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2040.
The Polestar 4, introduced as the brand's third battery-electric vehicle in April of this year, is set to be the brand's second BEV to reach consumers due to delays in the launch of the Polestar 3 SUV. The first Polestar 4 vehicles are scheduled for delivery in China in December.

Polestar 4 manufacturing
Customers will have at least two options for the Polestar 4. All variants come with a 102 kWh battery pack, and the base model features a 272 hp and 253 lb-ft (343 Nm) electric motor powering the rear wheels. Additionally, a Long Range Dual Motor version will be available, boasting a combined 544 hp and 506 lb-ft (686 Nm) of torque.
