While it stays true to its portable roots, the new Motocompacto offers only 19.3 km (12 miles) of total range, powered by a 6.8 Ah battery. This is significantly less than the original Motocompo's 144 km (90 miles) potential range on gasoline. On the plus side, this one won't emit odors in your car's trunk.

Equipped with a small motor that has a peak output of 490 watts, the scooter produces 16 Nm (11.8 lb.-ft.) of torque and operates on front-wheel drive. According to Honda, it takes 3.5 hours to charge the Motocompacto using a standard 110V outlet. The scooter measures 967 mm (38 inches) in length and 889 mm (35 inches) in height when fully extended, with a seat height of 622 mm (24.5 inches). When folded, it dimensions to just above 736x533 mm (29 x 21 inches) and weighs 19.7 kg (41.3 pounds).

Nick Ziraldo, the project lead at Honda Development and Manufacturing of America, stated, "Motocompacto is not only enjoyable and easy to ride but is also engineered for safety, durability, and security. It features a resilient heat-treated aluminum frame, bright LED head and tail lights, side reflectors, and a welded steel loop on the kickstand that fits most bicycle locks."
Honda has announced that the Motocompacto will retail for under $1,000 and will be available for purchase starting this November via Motocompacto.honda.com or authorized Honda/Acura dealers.
