All-new Kardian is the future compact crossover initially for South American markets. Its front face is the first to feature Renault’s new style outside Europe.

The vehicle features slender headlights at the upper part of its facade, likely flanked by fog lights encased in grey plastic inserts. These seem to frame a trapezoidal lower grille.

A side-on shot discloses the roof bars of the crossover and rear fenders that seem quite familiar. Speculation indicates that the Kardian could be Renault's take on the Dacia Sandero Stepway—a high-sitting hatchback variant that boasts several "rugged" enhancements like raised ground clearance, built-in skid plates, plastic wheel arches, among others.

The third preview photo zooms in on the updated emblem situated in the car's diamond-patterned grille. Renault states that the new crossover will have a length less than 4.15 meters (13.62 feet), highlighting its "high ground clearance."

The company last previewed the Kardian in August, showcasing the liftgate of the crossover, which displayed the name of the model under the new emblem, part of the taillights, and the spoiler on the roof.

Should the Kardian and Sandero Stepway turn out to be kin, it's probable that they'll share the same engine options. Dacia has phased out the diesel engine for the Sandero, currently offering it with a basic 1.0-liter engine that produces 65 horsepower and a turbo 0.9-liter engine generating 90 hp. No electric options are expected from Renault for this model.

The Kardian's introduction will align with Renault's announcement of its renewed global strategy. Initially launching in South America, the crossover will later be offered in other markets. This new Kardian marks the beginning of a new wave of products that Renault plans to introduce outside of Europe. The company is set to officially unveil the Kardian on October 25 in Rio de Janeiro.
