Skoda introduced the 2024 Kodiaq during a special event in Berlin, Germany, showcasing the Sportline as its leading model. Yet, rumors from Autocar suggest that a more potent RS version is in the pipeline.

After initially debuting with a twin-turbodiesel motor and later transitioning to gasoline for its refresh, the dynamic Rally Sport version appears set to continue into its next generation.

Instead of repurposing the Octava RS' 245-hp motor, the upcoming Kodiaq RS is rumored to receive a power upgrade approaching 270 hp. This would mark a significant increase from the strongest model at its debut, a 2.0 TSI with 205 hp. Mirroring its predecessor, the high-octane model is predicted to employ a dual-clutch automatic gearbox that directs power to both wheels.

Johannes Neft, who is on the board for Technical Development, affirmed that a new Kodiaq RS is in development, stating, "We are working on it." He also hinted that the vehicle might not adopt a plug-in hybrid configuration, suggesting Skoda might introduce the high-speed SUV with a sole gasoline engine. The reason behind this potential move in relation to the upcoming Euro 7 emissions standards is yet to be clarified.

Should the forthcoming Kodiaq RS boast nearly 270 hp, it would be comparable to the anticipated 2024 Superb. Skoda has verified that its flagship model, equipped with a 2.0 TSI engine, will produce 265 hp, channeled to an AWD setup through a seven-speed DSG.
