The all-new BMW X2 made its debut just a few days ago, but the company is already using it to participate in the Rebelle Rally. The normally road-oriented coupe crossover has undergone a number of modifications to better prepare it for its role as an off-road rally car.

The 2024 BMW X2 M35i equipped with All-Terrain Tires is set to take on the Rebelle Rally, a challenging off-road competition in the United States. While it remains primarily a road-focused performance crossover, some modifications have been made for off-road capabilities. These changes include fitting Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires, Rotiform ZMO-M wheels, and adding underbody protection with a skid plate.

Additional enhancements to the M Performance X2 include extra lights at the front and rear, a Thule roof rack, and paint protection film in Frozen Portimao Blue. It's also equipped with tow straps from the M Performance Parts catalog and a spare tire carrier in the cargo area. The vehicle is further outfitted with Smittybilt off-road recovery gear, accessories, and a TerraTrip external odometer.

The Rebelle Rally, known as the longest off-road rally competition in the United States, covers a grueling eight-day race spanning over 1,300 miles (approximately 2,100 kilometers). The race takes participants through the challenging desert terrain of California and Nevada. The 2024 BMW X2 M35i, competing in the X-Cross class, is driven by Rebecca Donaghe with Sedona Blinson as the navigator. The race began on October 12 and will conclude on Saturday, October 21.

It's worth noting that the U.S. version of the X2 M35i boasts more power than its European counterpart, delivering 312 horsepower from its turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine, compared to 296 hp in the European version due to stricter emissions regulations. Torque remains consistent at 295 lb-ft (400 Nm).
