Panasonic is giving us a glimpse into what they have in store for the Japan Mobility Show 2023. They will showcase a new vehicle-to-home storage system, safety technology for cyclists, and an autonomous vehicle that offers a peek into the future of autonomous transportation.

One highlight is the "Mobile Living Room" concept, which merges autonomous vehicle tech with the comfort and entertainment of our homes. Visitors to the Japan Mobility Show 2023 can experience a full-size mockup of this innovative vehicle.

Toshihiro Miyamihchi, the strategic manager for Panasonic’s vehicle interiors department, emphasized their commitment to improving people's lives through technology. He stated, "Utilizing this knowledge, we will create a future that moves the hearts of people and a rich mobility society."

The Mobile Living Room will essentially function as a moving terrarium, with glass on all sides. Inside, there's an L-shaped bench and a transparent screen for passenger entertainment. Interestingly, the screens will respond to gestures and words, enhancing the overall experience. The vehicle will also prioritize safety, monitoring both passengers and the surrounding environment, including traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Panasonic is also demonstrating their safety tech with a bicycle equipped with an Intelligent Transportation System, aiming to prevent accidents, especially in low visibility areas like intersections. Visitors can experience this technology through virtual demonstrations.

In addition to autonomy, the Mobile Living Room will be electric. Panasonic will showcase the eco-friendliness of this technology with a show car, where visitors can learn about the ecological advantages of electric vehicles.

Furthermore, Panasonic is highlighting their vision of vehicle-to-home charging technology, where houses and cars can share electricity. Electric vehicles can serve as mobile batteries, storing power from the grid or home solar panels, which can be used for driving or powering homes during peak electricity costs.

Panasonic will unveil all these automotive innovations at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo from October 26 to November 5.
