Longo Toyota in El Monte, California is planning to auction the first 2023 Toyota GR Corolla Morizo and give all proceeds to the El Monte School District and Vision To Learn.

Only 200 GR Corolla Morizos were made for the U.S. market in 2023, and this particular one is tagged as no. #001. The auction is scheduled for October 18-24 and will be organized by Bring a Trailer, who will also contribute the buyer's fee to charity. The winning bidder will receive free delivery anywhere in the mainland U.S.

Approximately 15,000 students are served by the El Monte City School District and El Monte Union High School District. The funds raised will be used to establish Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math labs and collaborative spaces in each school within the district. These labs will offer students a range of hands-on learning experiences.

The El Monte Union High School District will allocate some of the auction proceeds to bolster a career training program in transportation. This program provides students with practical experience in the automotive field, including tasks like diagnostic checks, brake adjustments, and testing electronic computer components.

Several unique features set the Morizo apart from the standard GR Corolla. This version is geared more towards track performance and comes without rear seats. It has a forged carbon fiber roof, omits second-row speakers, and includes an updated suspension system, a new set of wheels and tires, and an additional 349 spot welds throughout the body. The car's 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine has also been tuned to deliver an extra 22 lb-ft (30 Nm) of torque.
