Toyota is the latest automaker to announce that it will offer its electric vehicles with Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS) starting in 2025. That's the same year its first U.S.-made electric vehicle will roll off the assembly line in Kentucky.

Toyota will offer its BEVs with the North American Standard (NACS) starting in 2025. This includes electric vehicles from its Lexus brand. However, unlike other automakers that have said they will equip their entire lineup with the Tesla connector, Toyota says it will "incorporate the NACS ports into certain Toyota and Lexus BEVs."

So it is unclear which models will get the new charging system. However, Toyota does specify that the "all-new, three-row, battery-electric Toyota SUV that will be assembled at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK)" will be one of them.

In addition, any customer who owns a Toyota or Lexus with CCS will be able to use Tesla's Supercharger network via an adapter. Although the automaker does not explicitly mention it in its statement, Toyota will most likely provide adapters for vehicles with NACS as well. After all, "through the Toyota and Lexus apps, customers have access to an extensive charging network, comprising over 84,000 charging ports in North America, including level 2 and DC fast chargers. With NACS, customers will have access to more charging options, especially DC fast chargers," - access that the automaker plans to continue to provide.

Toyota is the latest automaker to jump on the NACS bandwagon. Recently, BMW, Hyundai, Kia, and Honda announced that they will offer their EVs with Tesla's charging technology starting in 2025.
