In Europe, the Renault Kangoo will not surprise anyone, but in Japan, this practical car has achieved cult status. Kangoo owners even organize huge rallies reminiscent of the Volkswagen GTI meeting at Wörthersee lake.

For the past 14 years, Kangoo owners and enthusiasts have gathered at the foot of Mount Fuji to celebrate the existence of the practical and, in some forms, perhaps even cute French space wonder.

The fourteenth edition of the event, called Kangoo Jamboree, is now behind us. This time, no less than 2,000 Renault Kangoos of various generations made their way to Fuji. The event attracted more than 5,000 visitors.

It is noticeable that - judging by the photos - some Kangoo's are quite personalized. The practical Renaults are either lowered or mounted on special light-alloy wheels, often with roof frames and extensive collections of stickers.

Renault itself took the opportunity to present the new Grand Kangoo to the Japanese public at the event.

Attached is a fantastic video of the Jamboree event, shot by the Japanese branch of Renault and lasting almost four hours. Of course, only Japanese is spoken, but YouTube's subtitle feature makes it easy to follow. Although, of course, it's mostly about watching.
