GAC Aion has officially unveiled the new Hyper HT SUV, just a week after images of the intriguing EV first appeared online. It will be sold alongside the Hyper GT and Hyper SSR in GAC Aion's 'Hyper' range of models.

The exterior of the SUV is understated, featuring basic headlights, modest air curtains, and a narrow lower grille framed by gently folded surfaces. The standout design feature of the Hyper HT is its second-row gullwing doors, inspired by the Tesla Model X.

In terms of dimensions, the Hyper HT stretches 4,935 mm (194.2 inches) in length, spans 1,920 mm (75.5 inches) in width, and stands 1,700 mm (66.9 inches) tall, all while resting on a 2,935 mm (115.5-inch) wheelbase.

Inside the Hyper HT, you'll find a sleek flat-bottom steering wheel and a digital dashboard. The vehicle also comes with a prominent central infotainment screen, dual wireless charging spots, and a floating middle console that includes spacious storage beneath. Backseat passengers can adjust their seats to recline and extend a minor footrest from behind the front seats. The front passenger seat can also fold down completely, creating extra space for the rear occupant to stretch. A panoramic glass roof comes standard.

The base model of the Hyper HT utilizes a 400-volt electrical architecture. Although the battery pack's size is not yet disclosed, the rear axle's electric motor generates 241 hp (180 kW) and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque. These specifications enable the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a reasonable 6.8 seconds. According to GAC Aion, this version has a 373-mile (600 km) range on the Chinese test cycle and can gain 87 miles (140 km) of range with a 10-minute charge.

Three other Hyper HT configurations will be available, each featuring an advanced 800-volt system. These versions share the same 335 hp (250 kW) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) electric motor, reducing the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time to 5.8 seconds. Two of these models can cover 670 km (416 miles) on a single charge and can add 415 km (258 miles) of range in just 15 minutes. The top-tier version increases the range to 770 km (479 miles) and gains 450 km (280 miles) of range with a 10-minute charge. It's also the only model equipped with LiDAR sensors.

Pricing information is still pending.
