Nissan is ringing in its 90th year this December, and they've decided to move beyond the usual documentaries and historical retrospectives. They're opting instead for a tangible keepsake that captures the brand's storied legacy.

The commemorative item is a BE@RBRICK figurine, adorned with Nissan's logo and marked with the number 90 on the back. Available in a set of two, the figurines measure 70 mm (2.7 inches) and 280 mm (11 inches) in height. To give you a frame of reference, the smaller one is just a smidgen taller than a standard Lego character, while the bigger one is a bit shorter than a typical nutcracker.

If you're wondering what exactly a BE@RBRICK is, it was first developed in 2001 by Medicom Toy in Japan to honor the teddy bear's 100th anniversary.

In the two decades since its debut, the BE@RBRICK has transitioned from toy to a sought-after collector's item. The form of the bear remains the same; only the exterior paint varies. Over the years, Medicom Toy has released versions celebrating well-known artists such as Keith Haring, popular shows like Pokemon, and iconic bands like the Grateful Dead.

As for Nissan's version, it features Sunrise Copper for its limbs and head—a hue inspired by the Ariya EV. The torso sports Nissan's updated logo on a black backdrop. The figurine also showcases a Kumiko pattern, which is said to "reflect the essence of Japan’s heritage passed down through the ages." A cherry blossom adorns one arm as a final touch.

The BE@RBRICK set will be available for purchase starting in mid-November, but pre-orders are open now. Priced at ¥17,600 ($117 USD at current rates), the set includes both the larger and smaller figures.
