Tesla's minimalist aesthetic in car interiors appeals to many, but not everyone is thrilled. For example, a Model X owner from China customized his car to include a set of physical buttons for easier access to key functions.

The minimalist design is polarizing: you either love it or you don't. Those who don't can always opt for electric vehicles with more traditional interior setups. But what if you're a Tesla fan who finds the reliance on the central touchscreen frustrating?

A Tesla Model X owner in China decided to take matters into his own hands. He customized the interior of his vehicle to include a set of physical buttons for easier access to essential functions.

A video posted by @ray4tesla on X shows that the newly-installed panel under the touchscreen resembles the control systems found in older Mercedes-Benz sedans. The panel has 12 functional buttons in total.

Some buttons act as shortcuts to specific areas in the car's menu, while others perform direct actions like opening the frunk and trunk, adjusting the front seats, folding the side mirrors, or changing the radio station or song.

While this modification may seem counterintuitive to Tesla's minimalist ethos, it underlines the idea that vehicle owners have the freedom to adapt their cars to their own preferences, provided they don't break any laws.

Details are somewhat limited due to the language barrier, but from what we can gather, installing the button panel to the back of the touchscreen and wiring it up seems to be a straightforward process.
