State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power, the electrical supplier, has indicated that car owners may qualify for financial incentives if they feed unused electricity from their car batteries back into the grid. However, specific details about these incentives have not been disclosed.
In the facility's next expansion phase, the goal is to install enough charging stations to accommodate 144 vehicles for charging and 50 for discharging. Additionally, a battery swap service for 400 electric cars is in the pipeline.
Duan Meimei from the State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Marketing Service Center stated that the objective is to better manage the electrical load from charging electric vehicles, and also to motivate electric vehicle owners to supply their stored battery power to the grid during times of peak demand. Yet, the exact financial incentives to make this attractive have not been specified in Xinhua's brief report.
