A driver in Delaware may have found the worst possible way to get into a non-injury accident. He had the bad luck to crash into a vehicle that was part of President Joe Biden's motorcade.

The incident occurred on Sunday, December 17, at approximately 8:00 p.m. in Wilmington, Delaware. President Joe Biden was at his campaign headquarters having dinner with members of his team and was on his way out of the event when the accident occurred.

First lady Jill Biden was already in a black SUV, and the president was walking to the vehicle after taking questions from the press, according to The New York Times. In video footage of the incident, the president can be seen slowly walking toward his vehicle when a loud thud startles him and the Secret Service agents around him. After the incident, they quickly escorted him into the vehicle.

Secret Service agents and heavily armed police took an interest in the vehicle and quickly surrounded it. Video footage shows the man behind the wheel quickly putting his hands up while being shouted at by the authorities.

Fortunately, the presidential motorcade was able to leave without further incident and no injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Additional footage of the incident shows that the vehicle in an accident was a silver Ford Five Hundred.

Despite no injuries resulting from the incident, the front of the Ford appears to have sustained a fair amount of damage. The front bumper can be seen hanging off the right side of the car, and the front fender of the black SUV that was part of President Biden's motorcade is also damaged.

Fortunately, it all seems to have been a simple accident, with the Secret Service saying that "there was no protective interest associated with this event." In other words, it was an honest mistake.
