Spied testing for the very first time, Mercedes' answer to the BMW i4 had full camouflage to hide what looks to be the production body. However, these are definitely not the final headlights and taillights. Also, the door handles protruding from the body appear to be fake. Logically, the C-Class EV will have handles that are flush with the body to provide a smooth profile for extra miles of range.
The C-Class EV will be based on a dedicated EV architecture known as MB.EA.
Although the electric C-Class sedan is fully camouflaged, it's already apparent that it won't look as bulbous as the larger EQE and EQS. It appears to have a sharper design and is likely to incorporate some of the aero tricks from the Vision EQXX concept car.

By the time the C-Class EV hits the market, it'll be up against another luxury electric sedan from Bavaria. The New Class platform, which debuts in 2025, will underpin a BMW i3 sedan (name not confirmed) and the next-generation iX3, which will face off against the future EQC crossover.
Using the current nomenclature, it would make sense for this electric sedan to be called the EQC, while its high-riding equivalent would be renamed the EQC SUV. However, rumor has it that Mercedes is planning a gradual retirement of the "EQ" branding starting in 2024. The first EV with a new name is expected to be the electric G-Class.
