Dongfeng eπ 007 Electric Sedan: Pre-Sale and Features Overview

Dongfeng has announced the pre-sale of its eπ 007 electric sedan, starting January 16. This new model, part of the eπ electric vehicle brand, is set to launch in the first quarter of 2024. The eπ 007 is the first in a series of more than 10 models planned for release over the next three years.

The eπ 007 electric sedan will be available in both EV and EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) versions, catering to diverse consumer preferences. The eπ brand, under Dongfeng, reflects a focus on electric vehicle innovation, with the ‘e’ representing electron and ‘π’ symbolizing the spirit of scientific exploration.

Technical Details

The eπ 007 features a fastback design, frameless doors, hidden door handles, and five-spoke rims with red brake calipers, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.209Cd. The medium-sized sedan measures 4,880mm in length, 1,895mm in width, and 1,460mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,915mm. Unique elements include scissor doors, an electric rear wing, and a 1.824㎡ panoramic sunroof.

The EV version comes with single and dual-motor options. The single-motor variant offers two different electric motors of 160 kW and 200 kW, while the dual-motor version features two 200 kW motors, achieving 0 – 100 km/h in 3 seconds. Battery options of 56.83 kWh and 70.26 kWh provide ranges of 530 km, 620 km, and 540 km (dual-motor). The EREV version boasts a cruising range of 1,200 km.

Charging

Fast charging allows the battery to go from 30% to 80% in 26 minutes.

Interior Design

The interior includes a two-tone white and gray cockpit, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, an LCD instrument panel, and a large central control screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. Additional features are a wireless charging panel and 64-color ambient lighting.

Audio and Safety Features

The eπ 007 is equipped with a 20-speaker audio system, including drivers' headrest speakers. Safety features include a level 2+ advanced driving assistance system with 31 sensors, enabling lane following, memory parking, and obstacle avoidance.
