Google made several announcements at CES, including updates to Android Auto and vehicles with Google integration.

Starting with Android Auto, electric vehicles (EVs) will soon share real-time battery information with Google Maps. This enhancement will offer numerous advantages, as the navigation system will provide your estimated battery level upon reaching your destination, suggest charging stops along the route, and even estimate charging duration based on your vehicle.

This new feature will premiere in the Ford Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning in the coming months and will later expand to additional models, although specific details are not available at this time.

Vehicles equipped with Google integration are gaining a variety of new apps, including the popular Chrome browser. Initially, it's being introduced to select Polestar and Volvo vehicles as part of a beta test. Later this year, the browser will become available in more models.

In addition to these new apps, Crunchyroll and PBS Kids are now accessible in select cars, and The Weather Channel app has been added in response to popular demand.

Aside from apps, owners can now send trips planned on Android or iOS devices directly to vehicles with Google integration, offering the convenience of planning a trip from the comfort of your home.

Looking ahead, Google integration will be extended to Ford, Lincoln, and Nissan vehicles later this year, with Porsche joining the lineup in the middle of the decade. Google also mentioned that digital key technology will soon be introduced to select Volvo cars and will expand to more phone and car brands in the future."
