Ford and Barrett-Jackson, known for their commitment to charitable causes, are once again joining forces to auction off the inaugural 2024 Mustang Dark Horse, featuring VIN 001.

This special Mustang boasts a striking Blue Ember Metallic exterior adorned with accent stripes. Additionally, it comes equipped with the Appearance package, which includes a contrasting black roof and eye-catching Notorious Blue brake calipers.

Stepping inside, you'll find a Deep Indigo interior with black Recaro seats complemented by contrasting blue accents. The car also boasts a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch infotainment system for modern convenience.

Under the hood, this Mustang is powered by a fourth-generation 5.0-liter Coyote V8, fine-tuned to produce an impressive 500 hp (373 kW / 507 PS) and 418 lb-ft (566 Nm) of torque. It's paired with a six-speed manual transmission, featuring a transmission oil cooler for optimal performance.

Enhancing the Mustang's handling capabilities is the Handling package, which includes a retuned suspension, magnetic dampers, and 19-inch wheels with a sleek dark finish. Notable additions like front tow hooks and a rear spoiler with a Gurney flap round out the package.

The auction for this exceptional vehicle is set for January 27th, and the entire hammer price will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), one of Ford's favored charities. JDRF is a leading global organization dedicated to funding type 1 diabetes research, with the ultimate goal of preventing, treating, and curing the disease.

While no specific auction estimate has been provided, it's worth noting that the first 2024 Mustang GT sold for an impressive $490,000 at last year's Scottsdale auction. Thanks to additional contributions, the total donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation reached an impressive $565,000.
