VW management has given the green light to launch the electric Tiguan in 2026. This became known from the presentation on the company's business indicators for 2023.

Apart from the date of appearance, there is no reliable information about the electric VW Tiguan yet. There is no clarity even about the name of such a version of the crossover. it would be logical to assume that it will carry the designation ID.Tiguan and be based on the MEB+ platform. This is a further evolution of the architecture currently used by ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.7 and ID.Buzz.

All in all, 2026 should be a busy year for VW. A few weeks ago, the Wolfsburg-based company announced that a smaller ID.2 crossover (name still subject to change) based on the MEB platform will also hit the market this year. It will be more affordable and front-wheel drive.
