Situational marketing is the use of current news and events to promote a company, its products and services. Hyundai took advantage of this by releasing its own version of the Grand Theft Auto VI game trailer.
The original GTA VI trailer has now amassed nearly 170 million views on YouTube. The new video from Hyundai is remarkable in that it shows the brand's rally cars in real life.
Instead of the main characters of the game in the video from Hyundai, the main actors are WRC champion Ott Tanak and his teammate Thierry Neville. The video retains the music, voices and selection of some scenes from the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer. But instead of a girl in a bikini, for example, show navigator Martin Jarveoja.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released in 2025. You can follow the Hyundai rally team now.
