Ford and Lincoln have adopted the Google Android Automotive operating system, a move that allows them to harness the capabilities of the world's most popular mobile operating system while providing drivers with a familiar and user-friendly interface.

Thanks to their partnership with Google, Ford and Lincoln are able to offer their own versions of popular applications, including Google Maps, Assistant, and music streaming services, directly on the digital control panel.

As a result of this collaboration, Ford and Lincoln have developed a 48-inch digital instrument panel set to debut in the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus. This panoramic display spans the entire width of the dashboard, providing a novel experience for both drivers and passengers.

One of the key innovations of this panel is its unprecedented level of personalization and modularity. The system recognizes individual drivers and automatically selects settings according to their preferences. Additionally, the internal displays can be customized to show more or less information, allowing drivers to tailor the instrument panel to their specific needs.

Ford and Lincoln have prioritized driver safety by ensuring that the driver remains focused on the road while having important information readily accessible. The companies aimed to provide drivers with a convenient and intuitive digital experience without compromising road safety.

Furthermore, Ford and Lincoln have ensured compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This integration allows users to effortlessly connect their smartphones to the instrument panel and access their favorite apps, music, and navigation services.
